Only thirteen weeks to go....

Jan0420081:32 p.m.

Well it's already training week three and everything is going quite well. My motivation is waining a little just now as the weather is so awful - we have had some snow in the last day or two and it's very cold.

My new watch is great though - its a Garmin Forerunner 50 with foot pod - as I can analyse and see how fast and how far I run each time I go out. I looked over all my run data so far yesterday and found that the fastest I had consistently gone so far was when I did my longest run yet which was 12.5 miles!! That's now the way it's supposed to work. Interestingly, I actually listened to educational podcasts, instead of music, on that run which made it pass very quickly even though it was late on a Sunday night.

If you're interested, the podcasts I was listening to were the ones from the FLM website - some of them are quite good especially for beginning marathon runners.

I feel slightly guilty today as I was so busy yesterday and the weather was really bad that I skipped an 8 mile run I'll do that run today and just dump a 5-miler although I'm not looking forward to it as it is REALLY REALLY COLD!
