harriet's horrible hamstrings
Today I had originally planned to do 17-18 miles. Instead I ran for 20 minutes. Things are not looking good. Very worried about the fact that as yet I have not run further than 14 miles and there is only 5 weeks to go. My whole preparation for the VLM seems like one big taper! I went to see my chiropractor on Wednesday and he did a lot of work on my hamstrings and told me to just run twice a day for 15-20 minutes until Monday and ice and stretch. Hopefully it is working and I'll still be able to get in an 18 and a 20 miler before the big day. I just wish all these stupid niggly injuries would go away for at least another 5 weeks! I bought some 2XU compression tights today from wiggle so hopefully they should speed up the recovery process.
Very jealous of all these long runs i'm reading about!! Have a great weekend.

RosTerry 'Hi I just wanted to share with you. I too have a painful hamstring injury. It started two weeks ago and yesterday was the first day I walked with out a limp. I went out today hoping to cover some miles and walked home crying after 20 mins. I m hoping and hoping it will get better in time but 5 weeks does not seem long enough !. I hope you recover soon. gunes 'I am so sorry to hear about your hamstring problem,and if it is any consolation I am also having problems with my hamstring,so you are not alone! I hope the compression tights help,and I know how you feel about all these long runs as I struggled with my 16 miler last week! Good luck and hope you manage to sort it out soon!!!
