The countdown is on!

Apr12201010 p.m.

Marathon training hasn't run smoothly like I had hoped, but it's definitely been a character building experience! With only 12 days to go I'm no longer thinking about what training I haven't done, but concentrating on what I have. The food poisoning has gone, and despite the 3kg lost I'm feeling fit and excited about the 25th. I had to take 5 days off running whilst I was ill, but managed 20 minutes on Saturday, 33 minutes (6km) on Sunday and 48 minutes (10km) today. My energy has returned and my running speed is back to normal...phew. My left hamstring is still misbehaving though so am off to the chiropractors again tomorrow for some punishment. I'm thinking about getting it taped for the marathon in the hope that it might hold me together for a few more miles... should probably practise with it like that first though.

Unfortunately this week involves preparing for an exam and writing a 3000 word assignment. DULL! Looking forward to getting them done so I can just focus my energy on the big day! Having the day off tomorrow, then on Wednesday am running 12km, Friday 16km, then will work back down the pyramid running every other day up until race day.

Hope everyone is enjoying the taper!
