As most of you are aware, I wanted to get in with my Good For Age time when I ran the London Marathon for the first time so worked to get my 3:41 at Blackpool last year enabling me to run yesterday.
I didnt get a PB (Moley I wish) but Im not disappointed as it was impossible to get any kind of stride/rhythm going and every time you did someone cut you up - it was mayhem. Also it didnt help that my garmin (and sorry but my garmin is my life line) decided to start playing silly beggars - infact it reckons I ran 28.1miles in total - as if!
The organisation was brilliant, the crowds were amazing but I didnt see any of my running club friends nor my Hubby as I couldnt hear them shout/spot them over the masses.
Got my good for age for next year but I am not intending on running it, will concentrate on a smaller marathon that I can get a good PB on (Moley - then your predictions might be right). I reckon the next time I run london will be when my mate Snowy is up to it and we are going to run as Pebbles and Bam Bam together and just enjoy the day.
That said, the crowds were amazing and I cant fault the race for organisation and water stations and I must admit the slickest race Ive ever participated in.
Now, i might sit here a while as its difficult to get up and down at the mo........ :-)

HellenH 'Hey chick! I knew I'd jinx u-sorry! That said, your time is still well on and gives you a GFA for the next 2 years. I was anticipating a clear start for you from the green start. Mind you, anywhere where there are 40 odd thousand people trying to run is a bit difficult! That said you did amazing-as I watched I thought it was getting sunnier and hotter. You should be on cloud nine now! Hope you had a coupld of ciders to celebrate as promised!! WELL DONE!!!!! xx' added 26th Apr 2010

Dim 'A GFA is a GFA, even when not a PB. As someone who has never attained those lofty heights of the GFA, I can't even begin to imagine gaining one that isn't a PB. Well done Hever.' added 26th Apr 2010

Petecw29 'Great running H I know what you mean about London and trying to run in the crowd it's not easy at times. Which is why I did Belfast last year, much easier to run at my own pace but there was a climb from 7-14 miles great race though! ' added 27th Apr 2010

Firefly123 'Well done with London - I think a lot of us found our Garmins were telling us we'd run further than 26 miles- all the dodging round people, - but an extra 2 miles sounds a bit too much!' added 27th Apr 2010
