What a club race since when????

Well sundays long run was a total disaster! But i was comforted when everyone else I spoke to at my running club last night had the same problem! What was up with that???
Rocked up to running club last night ready to run with the beginners class for my short run of the week only to be told that after there was a Club race taking part. AH MAN! If I knew that I wouldnt have run with the first lot! Well at least could treat the first run as a warm up even if I was at the front steaming ahead for most of it! Whoops! The race went quite well, it was one of those staggered races depending on people speed aiming to get everyone across the finish line at the same time. It nearly happened! The race went quite well, ran along side my running buddie for most of it at a top speed, hand started to spasm at one point - I assume from lack of breathing right and no oxygen, that weirded me out so I had to calm myself down before I passed out. Recovered from that just before the finish and felt like I did it in a very respectable time (dont know what that is yet will find out soon).
Looking forward to my run with the club on Thursday now, that might have something to do with the social down the pub after even if I have been on a drinking ban since NYE!!!!!! I coudl really do with a nice cold beer but will wait until after the BIG M!

glen_b 'A drinking ban since NYE? Crikey, that's dedication. I must admit one downside with running early on a morning is no alcohol the night before, but on the days off, a glass or two of wine is consumed. I did drink lager at the weekend for the first time in weeks though!!' added 24th Mar 2010
