Half term

Half term should be a good time to get some extra running in, but in fact you can't really do extra running. You have to stick to a schedule. This week my Monday recovery was on Tuesday, and I might fit in an extra short run on Thursday, but the main components of the scedule are all there and don't move much. The key objective is to get in some miles and be fit for the long run on Sunday.
I'm going up to the University of Greenwich for a visit tomorrow afternoon and will no doubt see some sights which get me in running mood. I wonder what that institution was called in the old days?
I seem to have all the kit I need, although one new long-sleeved vest would come in handy. I have a pair of shoes which I have started to run in for use on the day. Having been a NIKE user for as long as I've been running I have recently been converted to the SAUCONY OMNI. My main criteria for a succesful running shoe is that I do not notice it. I only weigh 10 stone (maybe less by the 13th April) so I don't put too much stress on a shoe.
The other thing about half term is that my alcohol intake increases (albeit slightly). I think a bottle of red is called for tonight.
