Last of the International Playboys....

Hey, how are you? Okay? I've not seen you around for a while. Me? I've not been around. It is a long story and I'll fill you in later.
Tonight I ran the Stretford-OT-Gorse Hill triangle. When in doubt, when trouble has darkens your door, run something familiar. Run something where you know every inch, every incline, every crack in the pavement. A sweaty, wrapped up run, 23:43. No wheezing, no coughing and no breaks for the blue diamond. The only real issue is the achy thighs. They've not seen much action ladies and I ensured they were covered in by the tights.
So, why the down time? The truth is I just ran myself into the ground physically. I started working in a room eight weeks ago that was really dusty and the air-con just made it worse. I opened the windows and it too made it worse. I did what I had to do for eight weeks but my wheezing got worse, asthma took over and, to cut a long story short, I ended up at the emergency GP one Saturday afternoon fighting for breath; I just got out the room. I hit the steroids via the GP and got a brown inhaler which really made the difference. I took the kids to Amsterdam, watched the runners in the Vondelpark and decided I needed to get running. I waited deliberatly last week because I wanted to be clear about what I wanted to do.
I decided to lay off the Facebook and just release myself from my digital life. I'm sorry if I've let you down by not supporting you in the way you support me. Please accept my sincere apologies.
My big dilemma is that I now have a very short space of time to get to 6.6 miles for the GMR. I also have my pre-op for my knee the week before the GMR so I'm going to have to talk the consultant round to delaying it. It is not going to be fast, when was it ever? I'm aiming for a finish.
Do you think I should do it or do you think I should quit it? I think I might try it but please let me know. See you around.
(Turns out it wasn't the rabbit)!!!

How many weeks till GMR. I am sure you could get round even if you had to run/walk it. If it is something that is close to your heart you should do it my lovely.' added 18th Apr 2011
