Another PB - GONE

Jun3020101 a.m.

Toay i smashed my 3 mile run pb by loads.  Previously it was 24 minutes @ 8 min/miles. But today for some reason i went out even harder and quicker fromthe start.  I kept looking at my watch to keep ane eye on my pace and it was really fast, i thought i would never be able to keep it up, but then the first mile was up hill, so realsied if i kept calm i could do this and get close to my p.b.  I was on the threshold almost all of the time. When i got back home as my watched beeped 3 miles, i could not believe what i was seeing.  My watch said 21:57 thats 7:19 min/mile pace.  I was so chuffed and wanted to shout all round the estate about how fit i am getting.  But i didn't.  The mad thing is this was part of todays brick session.  So i had already done 20miles on the bike at 17.5mph avg.  I am on fire at the moment.  The trouble is all i keep thinking about is what goal i need for after the Ironman and next year.  I can't drain the families resources and time again, but i know what i'm like, i need this obsession to keep fit and keep the weight down and to be happy in myself.  This is definitely drug replacemant from all my years of hardcore clubbing and d'j'ing, and i dont want to give it up.  The trouble is Sprints and olympics are expensive and aren't long/hard enough to keep me training all winter.  I need an almost unreachable goal,  for after my first ironman. It would have to be something like the hardest IM in the world (lanzarote) or the flattest/fastest one in the world(Austria or Germany) to go for a sub 14 hour time or something.  Anyway i dont think it's gonna happpen, i am just sulking and being selfish with the families money and time. I need to stop thinking about "after the ironman" and enjoy the last bit of the build-up, the race, then the pride.

Good news on my mate who crashed with me at the weekend.  His torn shoulder tendon doesnt need surgury, he has to just rest it until Ironman.  He just gets a 4 week Taper, so should be fine.  Kepp trainging, and chat soon.
