Off to IRONMAN UK today

Jul3020107:16 a.m.

This morning i drive with family up to Bolton to finish this epic journey.  And yesterday i weighed in and have made it into the 14's.  Finally got down to a new number that is only 1.5 stones away from my Army Fighting weight.  What superb timing.  So many people are starting to comment on my weight loss now.  It is really spurring me on.  Anyway, thank you for all your support along the way, especially Andaz, Jon Simmonds and Lady Fe.  You have been rocks when i needed them and funny when i have need to relax.  I will do you proud and get across that finish line, i promise you.  I made £2850 sponsorship in the end, i am so chuffed with that. Thats a big chunk to Help for heroes and Cancer research.

The car is packed, Iron dog is off to the kennels soon for her first holiday away from me, i am far more nervous about leaving her than doing the bloody Ironman.  I was interviewed again on Andover Sound and this willl be played over the weekend so i might get some more sponsors.  Also you can follow me on http://www.ironmanlive.com/ by entering my race number 62 on Sunday.  Well, see you when i am an ironman and thanks again.

  • JSIMMONDS 'Jase I am so proud of you buddy. What a long journey you have been on. My favourite inspirational story is from you: "My friend has gone from being out of breath tying his shoelaces up to losing 5 stone and doing an Ironman". You are a legend. And I still can't believe you have lost in weight more than the weight of my 7 year old daughter. I am writing this now knowing you have finished and knowing your time. I'll leave it up to you to tell the epic tale but can I just say "bloody brilliant mate". Wish I'd been there to see you cross that line and count your cartwheels!' added 2nd Aug 2010
