JT York 10k

Aug0120108 p.m.

Really liked this run last year, found the new route a bit twisty turny, running along some obscure streets in York then suddenly appearing at a landmark, however the weather was kind - cool! Plenty of people traffic so no PB but only 91 secs out, so this is a good mark for Middlesbrough as I think the multiple street changes slows things down a bit.  Support brill along the entire route.  Will be doing it again next year it's too handy to miss!

Spent a fortune on kids school things afterwards! Too handy for shopping too!

So next plan - Middlesbrough is 5 weeks away, most of my last set of training was to get the milage up after my holiday break, now the next 5 weeks is going to be getting the speed up, then fingers crossed I will get a PB this year.

Think I am entering Thirsk 10m in November another favourite race of mine, it was a bit icy the first year I did it 2008 we slid along one stretch then last year it was wet, some big puddles to dodge, especially at the start, so I wonder what weather we shall have this year!

  • Alaistair 'Clearly has to be a heat wave or storm force winds....I also ran this the last two years, by heck it was cold 2008. Understand what you mean about today, some of the streets were far to narrow to support such a large race of runners - perhaps a wave (staggered) start like they do Manchester is the answer? Good luck in Middlesbrough...' added 1st Aug 2010
