It's Been A While

Well what can I say? I have been quite lazy when it comes to blogging but while I haven't been blogging I have been running and training. I managed the Great Manchester Run in 58 mins dead and while it wasn't a PB it was quite satifactory. It was a little kick up the backside for me to try and beat the 2 hour mark for the GNR this year and realised I would have to run faster than my 10k pace for over double the distance! Looking for inspiration I downloaded one of those workout schedules for the Garmin from Runners World to the tune of sub 2 hrs. I am three weeks in to the training plan and whilst I don't do the workouts on the correct night all of the time I am doing them and a little bit of cross training to boot. I do my LSR for instance on a Monday evening as we seem to have been playing cricket nearly every Sunday for the last month. Everything seems to be going very well so far and am feeling nothing but stiffness after the LSR's but I put that down to age. Hills tonight for an hour. I usually do these on the treadmill at the gym as I haven't found a hill round my way that fits the bill for my training. I will try and blog again soon and I still read all the usual suspects' blogs.
