"Bolt" style finish

Aug2520088:44 p.m.

Went out for an 18 mile fun run on Sunday.  Phil from next door, otherwise known as the Marathon Man, came along for the craic(?) John came too on the bike.  so it was fab to have company.  Not sure that I've got enough psychological strategies to cope with these distances on my own.  Felt ok until about 15 miles and then hit low point.  By 17 knew I could finish it but struggle with a capital s. Practiced our Bolt style finish throughout which was good fun. (ie sideways run with arms out)

Phil who has only run 6 miles recently got round like a champ. Well done Phil! Not to forget John who after all did an 18 mile bike ride sitting on a razor blade saddle.

Have been wiped out since and am getting a cold which won't do at all.Things have been mad though recently so need to listen to my body. (ouch).  By my calculations we have 2 more long runs and a half marathon until the week before the marathon which will be a midsize run of a distance yet to be decided.  20? at the weekend - depends on health.  Will keep optimistic!!!
