38.05 miles

Feb0520126:48 p.m.

Until this year that would have been one of my highest mileage months. Today, that's what I covered this WEEK :). Probably average, or even below, for a lot of you, but for me that is huge! And I did 5 runs too!

As I have the kids this weekend, it was always going to be a treadmill run, but i had hoped to fit it in yesterday, giving me today to rest, before kicking off another week with a speed session tomorrow. But best laid plans often have a habit of going wrong.

Yesterday morning I was picked up by my lovely Slimming World consultant to go to a careers event to find out about becoming a consultant myself. Looked really good, and came away buzzing with ideas and raring to go. Small problem of no money to buy the franchise that I have to get round, but I'm working on it. Only as these things tend to do it ran over and we were later getting back than I'd anticipated. So once lunch was eaten and things done with kids there wasn't time to run.

Had becky going off to a party this afternoon, so waited until she'd gone, then Thomas was outside playing with ice before coming in and playing on my DS, so he was happy for a couple of hours while I ran.

Did my usual of increasing the speed by 0.1mph every mile from 12:00 to 10:00, with a little back track a notch half way through so I didn't have to go down too fast, then rounded it off with a mile at 11:32 increasing every 0.1m to 10:00. Overall the 14 miles were completed in 2:33:16 with an average of 10:57. That will do me nicely :).

Dinner now eaten, so will be working on my application for funding from a local charity organisation in the hope they will help me out with the money I need for setting up a Slimming World group. After all, it is putting something back into the community by helping people take control of their lives and lose weight through healthy eating, and hopefully doing a small bit to help combat the obesity problem.
