Oops, I did it again!

As the song goes.
Another change of plan. Didn't do the 15 today. No problems with the legs after the 2 sessions yesterday. They felt surprisingly good! Apart from knowing they would take a bit of persuading to run again, they didn't feel as though I'd run twice in one day - one of them being hills! All a good indication of much improved fitness to me, though others may disagree.
So, what's with the change of plan? Well, last week at club someone mentioned they had to pull out of the Bramley 20,a nd would anyone like to take her place. It's a club league race, so we needed enough people in the team for teh results to qualify. Once they found out I ran marathons I was sort of 'volunteered', but I have plans that I wasn't sure about changing, so had to decline.
But had an email round today again asking if anyone would like to take her place, so I found I was asking how badly it was needed! As tends to happen with me lol. Apparently we need 3 women in the team, and they have the 3, but having a 4th would give them a bit of breathing space should anyone have to pull out at the last minute, or run into trouble during the race. So, as I'm in the area anyway, it appears I will confirm tomrrow night at club, and come home with the number and chip. How do these things happen?
The only times I've run 20 miles are in my 4 marathons,a nd I've never gone over 17 in training for them, and have only got up to 14m so far since last April, so it's going to be interesting. BUT, I am better trained over 10m that I have ever been, and I've done the Bramley 10 twice (it was my very first ever race, so will be nice to go back), so I know the course. Most of my races I go in hoping for the best, with only a handful I know I've trained well for, but while I've not trained for this, and it's been sprung on me, I have the confidence in my ability I've never had before. Hopefully it's not misguided, but I know I've never not finished a race I've started, an don't intend to now. The just need 3 people to finish, doesn't matter how fast.
I'm actually quite looking forward to it now. There will be quite a few people there I know, and it will be the first outing of the club vest, and an official Hampshire Road Race League race too! I can't offer to marshall the club 10k next month as I'm running it, so it's my way of helping as I feel I should give something back.
Saying all that though, I'm sure reality will suddenly hit me on Sunday morning, and I will be wondering what the f*** I've agreed to lol.
Oh, and Pete, you readlly DON'T have to be so pedantic. I KNOW you don't do double Tuesdays ;0)
