Who needs heating?

Jan3020126:49 p.m.

Thanks to trying to survive on job seekers allowance, I've not been able to afford the heating so far this winter. When the chaps came round to put a new boiler in and flush the heating they chomped through several pounbds of gas in 2 days! So I daren't try putting it on. Anyway, I have plentyo f jumpers - and a treadmill :).

One way to warm up was to do an 8m interval session.

6 x 1m @ 9:40 the plan said, with 0.25, recoveries. Started off witha mile warm up nice and slow at 12:00, as I could still feel the 13 miler from Saturday and the legs were a little stiff. But soon settled into it, even if it did take half a mile before I was warm enough to take the cardi off lol.

Each mile was the usual 0%, 0.5%, 1% and 0% incline. Having got used to that now, I'm contemplating missing the first 0% ad going up to 1.5% from now on.

First effort actually felt slow! Well, not slow, as such, but not particularly fast. And I could probably have snuck another mile on the end too, but as I have club tomorrow, hills (possibly) on Wednesday,a nd another club run Thursday I don't want to overdo things! So I did what the plan said, and was more than happy with it.

I even managed to clock a 10k pb! Looked at the time and distance at just past 6.1m and had knocked roughly 2 mins off my time so far. So all is looking good for a sub 60 in 7 weeks time. Just need to knock another 3 mins off :).

Shame the heating doesn't last too long once you stop running though. Have now eaten dinner too,a nd the hands are rapidly turning to ice, so it will be a hot coffee followed by hot shower and pj's I think :).
