4 in the morning

No, I may be mad and venture outside in stupid conditions but I’m not daft enough (though heading that way) yet to run that early.  Not  4.01 but exactly 4 miles on the dot, according to map my run. (unless I was looking at the date by mistake!)

A couple of residual aches from Sundays run stopped me going out yesterday, or more accurately gave me the perfect excuse not to run. (I am so weak!)  So, as is becoming the norm, I got all my running stuff together last night and put it at the foot of the bed ready for an early start.

Alarm went off , hit the snooze button, but the damage was done, the running demons were awake and insisting I got up and out.

Greeted by a wagging dog as I came downstairs.  Literally – the whole dog was wagging one of these days she is going to give herself whiplash.

Out into the chill morning air and mainly kept to roads, once we’d gone over a couple of fields. Didn’t have the head torch and it was too gloomy to run off-road with any confidence that there wasn’t a newly dug rabbit hole waiting to catch me unawares.

Pace was slow but I guess this was partly down to taking care over the field.

Unlikely to get another run in this week as we are off for a long weekend in the Lakes. Will take the running gear as it looks like a walk or two may be cancelled if the weather forecast is anything to go by. (Last weekends wet weather training may come in useful yet!!)

4 miles   36mins 25 secs   9.1 min miles
