I put my name down for the 2010 London Marathon and my family and friends thought I was mad.    (I didn't get in)  Good thing real...

Still walking!!

Jun1520102 p.m.

I’m still around just things have been a bit mad in the last few weeks so no blogging. Cry

Weight is coming down.  I’ve joined Slimming World and lost 12.5lbs  Smile in 5 weeks with another weigh in today. I’ve got everything crossed that I can achieve that elusive stone award.

Did have a minor wardrobe crisis last week (thought eating chocolate might help but it didn’t)  when it hit home that it is all very well losing the weight but what am I supposed to wear as the ever increasing  pile ready to go to the charity shop can’t be replaced due to lack of funds. Think perhaps I’m going to suggest a clothes swap party at Slimming tonight and see what people think as I’m sure there are many others in the same boat.

As to the walking I am still getting out and about.  My mileage isn’t quite as high as I would like it to be but still managing 8 or 9 miles at least once a week and several walks of between 3 and 5 miles.  I have also dusted of my bike and managed to get out at least once a week for a bit of cross training. The mileage is slowly creeping up and I might even attempt to cycle to work on Friday (10 miles each way).  Did try running last week and whilst it felt great, it hasn’t done much good for my knee I have arthritis so having to be a little careful now whilst I try to reduce the inflammation.

I have received the details for the Cotswold Challenge in September (14 weeks to go) and my walking number is 5.  They give you the checkpoint locations with your acknowledgment so I have marked them on my OS map and this weekend I’m off investigating possible paths at least then I’ll have a better idea of what terrain to expect!!!!  I’m also looking for another shorter challenge for July time to give me a taster of what to expect.

Training plan says that this week is 3 x 4 miles and 1 x 8 miles.

Training so far this week is:-

Saurday – 9 mile walk – 2hrs 58mins

Sunday – 5.5 mile bike ride and 2 hours digging in the garden

Monday – 2.34 mile walk 42 mins

Tuesday – 4.3 mile walk in 58 mins WOW!! I didn’t think I could walk this fast.

Will also squeeze in another couple of miles round the playing field before I get weighed as I would normally do.  Field is just under two mile lap and as I’m always early is a much better way of killing time than sat in the coffee bar watching tv!!

Happy exercising x

I'm either still wearing the not quite so fat fat clothes (which friends have said swamp me and look rediculous now), or clothes I was wearing 15-20 years ago that I'm not sure are me any more. And I have a bloody holiday to think about too,a nd I HATE clothes shopping. Help!' added 19th Jun 2010
