Enjoying a week off after marathon, but what next?

Well today is the first day that I have felt vaguely normal since Sunday! For two days I couldn't manage stairs and was hobbling around in agony and exhausted from lack of sleep. I am now feeling quite good as i slept last night, pain free, for the first time this week! Still on a high from the fantastic experience, but beginning to wonder, What Now? Feel slightly lost in the world! Plan to start running again next week, but only the enjoyable 70 mins that keep me fit! I need a new challenge, nothing that involves fundraising as I have asked so much of everyone lately! Any suggestions?

Jenny1961 'Hi Lucy. Why not explore the Events tab on the www.runnersworld.co.uk website? There are loads of shorter races - 5K, 10K, 5mile, 10 mile etc. Its lovely preparing for these as the running mileage is more manageable. And you can collect some more lovely medals :0. There are also triathlon events - from shorter distances to longer ones. Loads of things. The important thing is to set yourself a couple of new goals fairly quickly. I look forward to hearing all about it!' added 28th Apr 2010

lazynortherner 'I too am in the post Sunday doldrums. The high I'm feeling is wearing thin as the realisation dawns that yes, it is all over, and what to do next. Well, not one to be down hearted I have already started looking at other events as suggested by LadyFe. Whilst they may not have the prestige of what we all did on Sunday, ultimately, life goes on and we should have goals. This is something both my kids picked up on strongly this weekend, seeing their Dad achieve something incredible. Go For IT Lucy !' added 28th Apr 2010
