thank goodness for mile markers

Well did a 13 mile run yesterday, intention was to run it in 1 .51+but ended up doing it in 1 44 which I know is probably too fast for the marathon.Didnt do the run I had planned as that would have taken me through heavy traffic (due to local event)so did a different course I hadnt run before and went too fast.It did feel good at the time but I am more tired than usual today.So now Iam confused as to what I should target for the day, stick to my original plan or somewhere between the two.The good thing is I know that the crowded start will slow me down,to a more sensible start and I will be able to monitor my pace better due to mile markers The bonus of yesterdays run is that i definatley felt the benefit of running less this last week so hopefully That will be even greater on the 25th.
