can anyone recommend any decent running socks 4 a marathon???
hiya fellow runners!
i am running the london marathon, this is my first marathon.
i am starting to think about my running kit for on the day,
can anyone advise of some decent running socks, to prevent blisters/toe nails dropping of ect!
also, i need a decent sports bra to prevent chaving nips and sore underarms!
i cant believe im lying awake at night worrying about socks and bras!
and any other race tips would be gratefully received!
like where to put vasaline before the race? ( no rude jestures!) lol!
and what high energy breakfasts you would normally have before the race, to keep you going?
how to get over pre- race nerves?
thank you xxxxxxx

SuperCaz 'Err, haven't you been trying this sort of thing out in training already? We can't really advise you on any of you issues as they are so much down to the individual. What works for me won't work for you. Pre-race nerves - easy. Keep busy and socialise and you will forget where you are until those last few minutes before the gum goes off. Ideally do a couple of local, short races before the big day so that you know what to expect.' added 25th Feb 2009

Way_Too_Slow 'Like Caz says, the time to experiment is during your training NOT at the main race. I use X-socks which are nice and cushioned, but as Caz says, what works for one one might not work for another. On your longer runs experiment with different gels or drinks to find what suits you best. Can't help you with the sports bra though! I agree it's a great idea to run smaller more local races so that you know what to expect. I'm running a couple of half marathons just as training runs apart from my LSR's. Good luck!' added 25th Feb 2009
