    Summer Is Coming...

It was wonderful to get out for a run at lunchtime - in the sun for a change! Shades on, vest rather than t-shirt and gloves and the sun beaming down on my shoulders.

I was so inspired that I actually remembered to do a long run (75 minutes). I haven't done one of them for, well longer than I care to think back.

Just 22 weeks until the Great North Run and I'd love to fit another half in before then, apart from the race I had my eyes on has moved to mid August. Not going to be a cool race then, I think.

    Racing Down

Usually racing inspires me on to enter more races and get my training back on track. But afte yesterday's 10k race, that has not happened!

Started off OK, but something was wrong. Maybe the lack of training, maybe I got cold between warm up and start? By half way I was just on a crusing pace, taking an easy run to finish the course as a training run. Nothing like the last race I did where I pushed from start to finish!

Finished in 42:29, target was sub 40, need to better training in place for Great Manchester...

    Starting how not to continue...

Training has been pretty ropey of late. More rest days than anything! 1 run this week and nothing else will fit in before Sunday, when I have a 10k race. Can't be long before the Great Manchester either.

Just thought I'd get this blog of the ground and maybe it will start to push me towards more training and more importantly, getting everything sorted for the charity.

Also a slight matter of working out the running costume for the day - just over 6 months to get that sorted!
