A change is as good as a rest

Happy Monday all
I managed to get home to Liverpool this weekend to see my mammy for mother's day - was very relieved for the break. I arrived at work at 9:30 on Thursday morning and didn't leave again until Friday lunch time so was beyond fatigued. I got up early on Sunday morning and did a short run (4 miles ish but was minus the garmin so guess work) along the beach near my mum's house - it was so nice to run in the sunshine and breathe in the sea air :-)
Am not running today, taking advantage of the unusual on-time finish from work (lull before the whipping begins again tomorrow) and am running into work tomorrow. Most unfortunately this transaction is due to close on 26 April... I am hopeful that I will not actually be sat at my desk when I am scheduled to be running the marathon, but the timetable will ensure that there is an insurmountable spanner in the training works. So, Im just going to do what I can, make the runs count, and hopefully will still be able to get one long run a week in between now and marathon day. I might have to walk in parts, but come hell or high water (or disgusting corporate transactions) I will finish it.
I have no doubt that this will not be my last marathon, so a time I am happy with might have to wait until the next time around.
Hope everyone has had a pleasant start to the week.

squa25 'Bummer! I think I've adopted that word since Simone's orthotic man used it. Work is a pain, you might have to work whilst you run haha can't read whilst on the treddie, I've tried it, but you can read whilst on the static bike. in these circumstances you just have to do what you can and you will get round on April 25th so long as they haven't chained you to your desk!!! make sure you keep a pair of bolt cutters under your desk in case you need to free yourself. Have a good week. ' added 15th Mar 2010

simonedumergue 'Unbelievable - how can your work deadline fall the day after the marathon. So unfair. Yep - we'll have to find ways of ensuring you make the start (and the finish!) line. That would be quite simply not on if work gets in the way. You sound like you are working SO hard. Bet that run in the sunshine at the weekend was a fantastic tonic.' added 15th Mar 2010

Firefly123 'Lyndsey - you will be fine. Your work takes up so much of your time at the moment, but you've also been training well. We'll see you on the finish line, I'm sure of it!' added 15th Mar 2010
