Bed Head

Morning all
First, thank you so much for all of your lovely supportive comments. They brought a little tear to my eye (although that might just have been over exposure to the office air con). Seriously, your encouragement is truly valued :-)
Ok, back to running. Work is busy but manageable this week (for this read "I will be in the office until late each night but it will not encroach upon my sleep"). With this in mind, I can run in the mornings. By far the least enjoyable time of day for me to run (ask anyone who has ever has the (mis)fortune to live with me how much of a morning person I am...), but good to get it out of the way and forget about it for the rest of the day. Plus, the dose of endorphins helps no end with my crippling depression at the prospect of another 18 hour day ;-). So, I ran into work this morning. 5.5 miles, sadly I am still lacking in the organisational area so had to run with large ruck sack, but it wasn't overly debilitating. 55 mins according to Mr G. I note with pleasure that running in one sleeveless layer is now fine - could Spring be here?!
I would like to say that this morning's run was enjoyable... but frankly, running down the Holloway Road is just grim. Still, beggars can't be choosers and after a thorough de-griming I feel like a million dollars now. One small glitch is that after emerging from the shower, dripping wet from head down, I realised that I had forgotten my hairbrush (boys, I know I've lost you here so feel free to stop reading now). Now, ladies, I have very thick hair. Which is a blessing (I am assured by my mother). It doesn't feel like too much of a blessing when drying it with fingers. I am now sporting the "I just rolled out of bed and I probably wasn't alone there" look. Which is all well and good at the weekend, but I suspect clients don't expect their lawyers to turn up at meetings looking like this... today could be interesting.
Another glorious day in London - I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.

Firefly123 'I hear that the 'just rolled out of bed' look is all the rage now! I'm sure your clients will be very understanding! Well done on battling your 'I'm not a morning person' demons and doing that run into work - and with a rucksack too. I hope your day at work goes well.' added 16th Mar 2010

ClareVR 'Ha Ha - brilliant Lyndsey! I feel your hairbrush woes. I have to get changed every morning at the yard after doing my horse (yes, believe it or not I have a pair of straighteners in the tack room) and on the mornings I am less than organised forgetting my comb becomes a serious situation!' added 16th Mar 2010

Muffs 'You're right I don't get the hair thing but I do get the morning thing. I hate running in the mornings and only do it when I really have to.Advice on the rucksack. If you don't need to carry too much Inov8 pro Race 12, if you have to carry everything but the kitchen sink then I would go for a Raidlight. Both are very good and supportive with minimum movement.' added 16th Mar 2010

simonedumergue 'LOL - sorry, but the thought of you having serious client meetings with bed hair is hilarious. Hope you have understanding clients who are so impressed by your marathon commitment that they totally understand :-) Like you, I detest running in the morning but what a great way for you to fit it in. No one can steal that time from your day (but they can steal it from the end of your day) so it is quite empowering I am sure, to seize those early morning runs and know that you have fitted it in.
