Part time lover (runner)

Mar24201011:16 a.m.

Morning all

Im feeling very chirpy today, although I have no reason to be as my life is still in work-bulldozed ruins.  Must be sleep-deprived hysteria, but Im not complaining.

Let's get straight into the running as I am inclined to rant at anybody who will listen about the miserable state that is my existence at the moment (tip: do *not* be foolish enough to ask me how I am... it might seem like an innocuous and typically English greeting to you, but trust me, I am way past etiquette and you will not get the typically English "how do you do?" in response).

Running is not going too badly - mid week runs are still off the menu but I did 3 hours on the hills of Hampstead Heath on Sunday with my new running coach (more of that in a minute) and another of his clients.  It was a glorious day and I even got a bit of a sun tan.  I felt fine and am much more confident that my fitness hasn't plummeted to 2007 levels.  It was great to run with company, so much so that the lovely other client of coach and I are doing a long run together on Sunday.  I love making new friends :-)

The story of The Coach - I was complaining (again) on Friday about my training.  Or lack therof.  The lovely man standing next to me overheard and told me of his vocation, suggested I run with him on Sunday.  He is my new guru.  Running is very spiritual for him and this attitude was infectious on Sunday.  I felt "at one" with nature.  Probably because I was covered from head to toe in mud after the run but there you go.  Anyway, I was complaining of a sniffle post run and he popped out vit C pills, anti bacterial wipes and an orange.  I swooned.  He has a client for life.

Apologies for not having caught up with blogs - will endeavour to do so over the weekend.  I hope you are all having great weeks!

  • cros_tim 'Hi! It's great that you run for 3 hours...I wish I could manage that! I can run for one hour, never tried more! You must be very ambitious to decide to run a marathon! I will participate at London BUPA 10,000 in May and I train for that! ' added 25th Mar 2010
