Sad tidings
Apr1920109:32 p.m.
Hello all
I hope you are all resting up ahead of the big day on Sunday. Im afraid that I shall not be joining you :-(. Work has been relentless for the last 2 months, meaning one long run a fortnight. It was horrid, but I was managing. Most unfortunately, I contracted a pretty nasty bladder infection last week which appears resistant to antibiotics, and have had to defer my place on doctor's orders.
So, the marathon dream lies in ruins. It is all very upsetting after all the training, but hopefully next year I will be in a position to train properly and will run the marathon I am capable of. And not damage my health in the process.
Sigh. On that note, I wish you all the very best of luck on Sunday - I will be there to cheer you on. And hopefully I will see some of you on the finish line in 2011 (and even New York this year, if Im very very lucky).

Firefly123 'Oh Lyndsey,I'm so sorry you won't be joining us:-( but I hope you manage to shake off the infection soon and that work won't be so manic on the lead up to 2011. I tried, but failed to get into the NYC marathon, but I shall be trying for both London and NY next year. I wish you all the very best (I did try to find you on facebook but wasn't very successful - the only person with your name I could find worked in a chippie in Glasgow LOL). I'll keep looking though x' added 19th Apr 2010

simonedumergue 'That is sad news. I noticed you hadn't blogged for a while and wondered where things are at. This year simply wasn't meant to be your year. Which means next year will probably pan out wonderfully for you and you can give it all that it deserves for maximum enjoyment and satisfaction. Hope you get well soon and you don't feel too down about missing 2010.' added 19th Apr 2010

squa25 'So sorry to hear you won't be joining us. Such a shame but at least you can give it a better shot next year. What's this about new York? I'd love to do new York but it's so expensive! Still I have my eyes set on it for one year... ' added 20th Apr 2010

Ruth22 'oh no, so sorry you can't be there. I had to defer last year so I know exactly how you feel - it's so gutting and disappointing. But yes, you need to put your health first. Onwards & upwards for 2011!' added 24th Apr 2010
