I am happy to report that I am delighted with my results.  I tap danced at least 11 of the 13.1 miles of the course, only walking fast a few times, and I was able to do an impromptu tap dance as I danced up to the finish line.  I had been worried about finishing in under 4 hours, as they announced that the course would be closed at 4 hours.  I finished in 3 hours 27 minutes and 34 seconds!  And this included slowing down to tap/jog at the tempo of some of the bands along the course and my impromptu dance at the finish.  This works out to be a average of 15.8 minute miles.  I had been hoping to do 18 minute miles.  Yea!

I got a tremendous amount of energy from the joggers and walkers around me on the course, as well as from the spectators.  So many people went out of their way to tell me things such as:  "way to go, tapper", "I can't believe you are tapping the course", and "you made my day, this is such fun."

I am also happy to report that I have turned in $2041 to the MMRF.  I had pledged to raise $1500, and thanks to the generosity of so many people, I was able to contribute much more than I had hoped.

I had a great deal of fun and I feel terrific, if a bit tired.

As I started this blog to record my training to tap dance the Seattle Rock n Roll Half-Marathon and to track my fundraising for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) this is my last post for this blog.
