How Long

Aug2820118:21 p.m.

Sorry I haven’t blogged for a while but the time has just flown by not sure why anyway no more excuses other than I must try harder.

So what have I been up to. I was just getting back some of my running fitness and the training was going pretty well, I’d even entered a local 10 k off road race when I went and tweaked my hamstring during a sprints session with the running club. So no running and a lot of ice for 10 days and obviously no race. Although I did still manage to get out on the bike. And I even toyed with the idea of entering a local tri event that some of the running club are taking part in but unfortunately we’re away that weekend, maybe just maybe one day.

Then we went off toFrancefor a couple of weeks. We stayed in the Vendee and whilst the weather wasn’t brilliant the whole time it was certainly a whole lot better than what we have been getting at home. I even manage to get out for 4 runs around a nearby by lake which use to take me between 40 – 45 mins, loads of others doing a similar thing and I always got some form of head nod or Bonjour. All in all we had a great time and found it very relaxing and something we would look to do again. I must admit thoughFranceis a lot more expensive than the last time we holidayed there, that’s the Euro for you I suppose.

Then it was back to reality and work this week which has been a struggle especially when I’ve come back to a number of changes which whilst complicated basically that I along with a number of colleagues will be losing money, surprise surprise , but will still be expected to undertake the same tasks. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens be suffice to say that there are some very unhappy people about the place at the moment.  Since we’ve been back I managed 2 four mile runs on Tuesday and Thursday and ran 7.5 miles last night. Still haven’t been out on the bike since I’ve been back but I’m going to try and get out on it tomorrow, fingers crossed and family plans permitting.

Well that s all for the moment folks keep running and enjoy the weekend.

Some good training going on there. It must be hard to focus after that awsome bike ride you did.' added 28th Aug 2011

  • kraftykat 'Well done with managing to squeeze a few 'holiday runs' in. Always nice to run in different surroundings. Hope the hamstring clears up OK. And yes, I've heard the same comment about countries being pricey, some of our friends just came back from Italy, they said the same. The euro has definitely increased the prices of everything. Hope everything pans out oK at work for you. Seems to be a common thing at the moment unfortunately.' added 29th Aug 2011

  • Rob_Barber 'If anything is going to undo a hamstring, it's sprinting. As for work - stuff 'em! If they cut 10% from your pay - do 10% less work - then everything stays equal :-)' added 29th Aug 2011
