Its not getting any easier. Infact its getting tough!!!

Decided I couldnt have a second day of not running and went out first thing this morning to do 5 miles. Thought it would be a walk in the park....... but really really struggled and hated it!! Its put me in a real bad mood to be honest and all sorts of negative thoughts are going through my mind at the moment.

Im doing an organised race on Sunday -  The Mad March 20 (20 miles as the name suggests!) How am I going to get round? Infact if it was today _ I simply wouldnt have. I think my body is tired and had enough. Smudger raised a good question on her blog - Is it healthy to sustain all this distance?

I've decided not to do my sceduled 3 miles tomorrow, rest my body for the day and eat some pasta all in preparation for Sundays day of hell!!!! Wish me luck!

  • Keith_L 'Good luck for the Sunday run The next couple of weeks are the worst and the body does tend to rebel a bit. Dont beat yourself up about it and if you need the odd extra days rest it is no big deal' added 12th Mar 2010

  • Rob_Barber 'Is it healthy? Well, so long as you have adequate rest and sound nutrition to enable your body to do what you are asking of it, yes! What we do in the hours when we're not training is equally important, maybe more so, as what we do when we are. Good luck for Sunday, hope you can attack it feeling refreshed. ' added 12th Mar 2010

  • STUBLACK 'Good luck on Sunday, enjoy a rest day on Saturday. I just tell myself that there's only 6 weeks of this left to go and I'm never running again, it helps' added 12th Mar 2010

  • blondiekels 'I have to say, the shorter distances are really challenging me at the moment too. I think you are doing the right thing by resting tomorrow. Spend the day resting, eating and focusing on Sunday's challenge. It is hitting us all at the mo, but remember, it is all in the mind... Good luck! ' added 12th Mar 2010
