5 days till the Marathon!!!

Apr1920102:31 p.m.

Having tapered over the last couple of weeks, my legs are feeling tired and I seem to be lacking  energy. Maybe I've started carb loading too early, but then again, when can you ever have too many carbs?!?

I'm slowing getting more and more nervous as the days go by and the Marathon approaches. I'm at the level you would experience just before you go in for an interview. I'm also extremely excited and can't think of anything else. All these months of training will finally pay off on Sunday.

I went for my last 7 mile run yesterday, which was great. I pushed myself a bit and got my fastest time yet. After my 20 mile run I've focused on running slightly faster so now I'm doing just under 10 minute miles. Not much of an improvement on my previous 10.5/11 minute miles but still great all the same. Once the Marathon's over, I'm going to keep running as I can't believe how much I enjoy it. That and the fact it's the best form of exercise to lose weight. I've never seen such an improvement in my fitness and weight in any other form of exercise.

I now have a couple of 2/3 mile runs before the Marathon and will rest from Thursday till the big day. I'm off to register for the Marathon on Wednesday when I'm sure I'll get even more nervous when I actually get my number!!
