The sun is shining..... and I'm smiling...

Mar1420106 p.m.

unfortunately not because I am running but because today I feel less stressed about it all and that can only be a good thing!  When I woke this morning I had a slight pang of regret that I wasn't road tripping to Nottingham with Pixie Runner to do the kilomathon (check out her post she had an amazing run and I'm super proud to know her!!!  she's my hero!) but I ignored the regret and jumped out of bed as the sun was shining and looked forward to a nice relaxing day instead!

A leisurely breakfast and then Mr Wood and I headed over to Burntwood to see his mom.  I'd visited my Mom yesterday and had a lovely morning nattering with her over a cup of green tea and a smoked salmon bagel before cycling home (5 miles on the bike done!)..... anyway lovely visit to the Woods.  I know it was mothers day but Mom Wood kindly cooked us a late brunch type meal of sausage, bacon and some mini omlettes.... followed by a sample of the belgian chocs we'd bought her!  I was hoping she'd share.... they looked yummy and didn't disappoint!  I'd planned to go out on my bike again this afternoon so we headed back to Birmingham about 3ish.

I have had such a lovely time out on my bike today I barely missed the fact that I wasn't running (I didn't even sneer in jealousy at the runners I did see out and about!).  I did an hour on my bike and managed 11.79 miles..... MUCH quicker than my last hour outing!  I did my practice route to work as I am planning to cycle in on Tuesday and all went well..... my confidence is growing out on the road!  Also the knee didn't hurt at all.... I was v good and did all my  kneeexercises/stretches when I came back and am currently icing to be on the safe side!

Tomorrow I'm going to do a bit of yoga I'm not that keen on yoga as I find it to slow and controlled - which is not me at all! (as I am trying to learn a bit of patience thought this might help!)

Hope everyones LSR/race/resting days have gone well today x
