Reality returns

I've finally accepted that I wont be lining up next to the wife on sunday to run the Portsmouth coastal marathon. A couple of grumpy old man days behind me, I am now pleased to be free to run 4 or 5 times a week and not have to save myself for a long run all the time.
I'm putting together a plan for the VLM and looking forward to lots of runs over the Xmas break, and then a week running in the beautiful rural countryside of Galicia, España in early January.
I ran 11.25 miles yesterday in the glorious winter sunshine, and plan to pop out this evening for a quick 3 or 4 miler to 'earn' my dinner and pud :-)
Yesterday saw me pass the 1,000 mile mark for 2012 - I'm pleased with that, especially as i have had to contend with three bouts of my calf muscle injury over the year. Roll on 2013 and my target of 1,200 miles, and no injuries!
