wow 3 weeks to go, your help is NOW needed

I am not sure if I dreaming or in shock but I did 19 miles yesterday, yes me Peter Mizzi trotted 19 miles yesterday how mad does that sound, it is making me have a laugh. To be honest I have been working really hard to get this far, staying in on too many nights so I can do the run the next day. That was the last of the long runs before the big day J I am starting to taper down now, I even have the terminology. Not sure how I am going to do the last 7 miles, thinking I might have to crawl because I had nothing left in the tank yesterday.

What is making my-self imposed torture more than worthwhile is the wonderful support I have been getting in sponsorship from everyone for SPINAL RESEARCH which is a fantastic charity close to my heart SO IF YOU CAN HELP TO RAISE EVEN MORE IT IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. THANK YOU everyone.

Come abd see me on the day if you can

    An aching Pete

    GETTING THERE

Haha I have been given my race number 39336 for the London Marathon how mad is that, I never thought in my wildest dreams I would ever be saying that!!

Those of you who know me know me know that this is not really me, BUT I have been working really hard and must admit to find it challenging and tough at times BUT I am getting there. I have been sticking to the schedule and doing four runs a week and last week trotted a total of 34 miles with the long run being 16 miles, the third time I have done this distance BUT the first time I managed to do it without stopping, must admit to giving out a little scream of achievement at the end. I can actually see me finishing this now. The long run this weekend is a staggering 18 miles the longest distance I will do before the big day.

I had to change the trainers and have been introduced to the not so nice world of blistersL, less said about these b******s the better.

Well the good news is that I have lost over a stone in weight; I don’t think I have been this weight since my teenage years!!!!!

As always a massive thank you if you have sponsored me it really is appreciated, and if you haven’t done so yet, please do. It for a great charity and having visited Stoke Mandeville hospital many times in the past I know firsthand how important the work that Spinal Research do.

    Take care

    Pete

    progress is being made

Hello hope everybody is good, after falling behind in the training last year, come 5th Jan I have started a training programme, which should make me be able to complete the marathon on the 26th April. I am now at the beginning of the third week I have been very good and have stuck to it. In week one I ran a total of 15 miles with the longest being a 5 mile run, I must admit some of the runs were F**king cold down to -4 with snow but the book tells me no cowarding out to adverse weather conditions and whom am I to argue.

The second week saw a total of 16 miles trotted with the longest being a six miler which I must admit to being rather chuffed at finishing. This Saturday the long run is 7miles, o dear they are getting longer.

Things I have learnt are that dogs are like bullets and will come at you at a million miles an hour to try and get a strike and knock you over.

When you pass a fellow jogger you got to give them a little nod, I think this is more a sign to show them that you are appreciating the pain they are going thru!!, or am I just getting strange looks because I keep muttering “this doesn’t matter” when I am soaked and freezing and aching!!!

I have also been heard to say very unlike Peter things like “o I have tight hamstrings and calf’s I better do some stretches”

Also 19days into the New Year and not a drop of alcohol but I think that might change this Saturday for Carl’s birthday bash.

A BIG thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far it is really appreciated.

    Pete

    No Going back

Ok the training was going well i managed to get up to 10miles but it all stopped around mid October I have now 4 months starting from tomorrow to pull this one off. I would apprecaite support and sponsorship from all areas. The challenge is on this week I have to run 15 miles with 5 on Saturday.

    19th Sep

OK not bad considering last night one had a big Chinky i ran 5k this afternoon which is not to bad at the moment, but 26 odd miles does seam like a long long long (and another one for good measure) long way away i hope by the end of next week to stretch that to nearer 7K. Anyone on here know of anyone just starting there training around the Hounslow Isleworth area?
