Hello hope everybody is good, after falling behind in the training last year, come 5th Jan I have started a training programme, which should make me be able to complete the marathon on the 26th April. I am now at the beginning of the third week I have been very good and have stuck to it. In week one I ran a total of 15 miles with the longest being a 5 mile run, I must admit some of the runs were F**king cold down to -4 with snow but the book tells me no cowarding out to adverse weather conditions and whom am I to argue.
The second week saw a total of 16 miles trotted with the longest being a six miler which I must admit to being rather chuffed at finishing. This Saturday the long run is 7miles, o dear they are getting longer.
Things I have learnt are that dogs are like bullets and will come at you at a million miles an hour to try and get a strike and knock you over.
When you pass a fellow jogger you got to give them a little nod, I think this is more a sign to show them that you are appreciating the pain they are going thru!!, or am I just getting strange looks because I keep muttering “this doesn’t matter” when I am soaked and freezing and aching!!!
I have also been heard to say very unlike Peter things like “o I have tight hamstrings and calf’s I better do some stretches”
Also 19days into the New Year and not a drop of alcohol but I think that might change this Saturday for Carl’s birthday bash.
A BIG thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far it is really appreciated.
Pete
