Pain and tears

Feb0720101:53 p.m.

This is possibly the lowest point of my training so far. It's a sunday and I'm supposed to be doing a 12 mile run. Instead I have spent the morning at hospital and have absolutely no desire to go out for a run.....I'm trying hard just to keep myself from crying.

7 minutes into my hockey match yesterday and I get a ball hit at god knows how many MPH onto my left thumb....so yes I can still write and yes it won't affect my marathon training but for some reason it has really upset me and the pain is ridiculous. I have been to the hospital twice in 2 days and had 2 xrays and they are still unsure if it dislocated/ligament damage/minor fracture due to swelling. So I have to go back on Friday....

In the meantime I'm having today off running. So not been on a run since Thursday and only 7 minutes of hockey yesterday. Possibly the longest sports break since the new year and I don't like it - I don't like it at all. I'm hoping to do a 12 mile run tomorrow instead but we'll see. Just got to keep taking the painkillers.

11 weeks today and hopefully this will all be a distant memory and I will be well on my way to finishing the Marathon. Just got to go over this little bump.....
