Rest & niggles

Mar0520128:54 p.m.

Resting - gave myself a few days of after last Thursdays 15 miles. Obviously Friday was a rest day but I could have gone for a jog on Saturday. There were no ill effects from Thursday and I felt good but I just gave myself an extra day off. Because I could.

Football - turned up for my match on Sunday afternoon just as a blizzard blew in! I seriously thought about calling the game off because the pitch was going to detiorate quite quickly but decided to start and see how it went. Towards the end I was running through 2" of slimy mud so should have ended it there but both teams were playing football and not being silly about it so I let it go on. Covered just under 4 miles and game ended 0-0. Very unusual for a Sunday league match.

Today - have been thinking about going for a speed session but keep telling myself that if I am doing 15+ tomorrow I really shouldn't . Can't now, Mrs K has gone to Asda so won't be back for a while.

Niggle -got a slight niggle, a minor groin strain. When I run it is fine and I don't feel it but it does let me know it is there when I stop. when sitting I get a twinge every now and then. I have stretched, iced and heated it but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I need to see a physio but I know they will say I need to come back several times for treatment and I can't afford £20 a time. The doc will refer me for physio, in about three weeks and they will see me once a week if I am lucky. I don't have time so does anyone have any other advice?

Never ever give up
