Shiny springy bouncy and clean

...that's my new trainers, for now. Managed to get a great deal on UKHotDeals, a pair of Asics Patriot 4's for less than £20 delivered! Like all new trainers they feel a little tight but they have only been worn once and I know they will be fine in a few miles time.
Test run - really couldn't decide between a 6 miler or tempo session. Stepped outside and decided I wanted to get back indoors as quickly as possible so a tempo run won. And a tempo run it turned out to be!
2½ miles - did the loop from my house via Hilsea Lido and the Mountbatten Centre. A few weeks ago I moaned that I want to do it in 25 minutes, usually I take around 27 - 29 (depending on my mood). Maybe it was my shiny springy bouncy and clean trainers but I seemed to be going quite well. I had to walk for a minute to sort out the Ipod (wouldn't normally bother with a little run but I was not sure what I was doing so took it anyway, plus I wanted to listen to the end of the Richard Pryor gig I was listening to on Tuesday). Finished off in 25:57. I think that is probably my fastest time for that route, ever. New shoes, cold weather, getting faster? Who knows? I know I am getting fitter so maybe 110 miles in January is paying off.
Never ever give up

kizzi10000 'Well done! Nothing like a pair of shiny new trainers to get you going. I could do with some new ones - have trouble telling the difference between the current ones and the previous ones, being the same model. Even the wear is starting to look similar :(' added 3rd Feb 2012
