That's annoying

When you check out a new route and it isn't what it seemed
Disappointed! - Did two runs today. I do enjoy a run along a dismantled railway line and I discovered a new one a few weeks ago so off I went. The signpost at the start said it is 11 miles to Winchester. I looked it up on Wikipedia and checked out the map and could work out about 6 miles. Luvvly Jubbly (not that I was going to run it all!). Took Brian with me and the track stopped half a mile away! A road was built across the path and I could not work out which way it went after that. Managed to find my way into some fields which are never really good for running as the ground is so uneven but I forged on to make it a mile, then turned back so I covered two miles. So, later that day I popped out and did another 2½ miles.
Long and wet - that was my run on Thursday. Had an errand to run so I literally ran it. It was persisting down with rain but off I went, 3.66 miles to Southsea in 40 minutes, back in 40 minutes. With a stop off in the middle for around 6 or 7 minutes whilst I did what I had to do.
Donald - my PTI mate turned up on Saturday this week (last week he was hungover). Again I just wasn't in the mood for running but as he was there I decided to go. Just under 5 miles today, all along tracks. We ran up the Eastern side of the island to the HJarvester Restaurant and vback. He made me put the garmin away and just run for a change. He's right, time isn't important, distance is. We did walk a few little bits.
Football - had one of those horrible games yesterday. Defence won the ball, hoofed it forward, defence won the ball, hoofed it forward. I almost got a crick in the neck as the ball spent so much time going over my head. It makes for not a lot of movement too, I turn to follow it and it comes straight back. In the first half I covered 1.99 miles. The second half was no better but I played injury time until my watch said 4 miles!
Tomorrow I am hoping for a 10X800m speed session.
Never ever give up

I can manage just under 5 miles at the moment so a long long way to go, I have days when I feel like giving up, but thats the easy option!! Keep going.' added 5th Dec 2011
