Just a little speed session.
8 X 400m - tried, just a little, to see if I could push it a bit in yesterdays speed session. Did the half mile warm up in 4:39 so a good start, then 8 X 400m in 2.07 - 2.15 - 2.07 - 2.13 - 2.11 - 2.07 - 2.15 - 2.17. A little better than usual so at least I got what I wanted but I don't think I will ever do that sort of mile pace over two miles let alone 26, especially as each rep had a 2 minute break in between whilst I walked back to the last 200m mark.
Races - still not booked one yet, I can't find anything I fancy. If you are reading this and know of a race in the South, preferably not too far from Portsmouth (between Bournemouth - Reading, London and Brighton) please let me know. I want a 10 miler and a half mara or two otherwise I will have to do the Portsmouth Half and I don't really fancy running along the seafront in February into a 30mph wind at the end of a half marathon (not to mention the shingle beach part)

kizzi10000 'Good going. When do you want the races? Usual ones over this way - New Forest 10 (off road in July) NF half you know. Look through the local running club diaries - New Forest Runners, Running Tree, Hardly Runners, Eastleigh, Stubbington Green AC, Gosport Road Runners. Should have most races round this area on them. NOt sure what there is in the other direction. I know Bognor and Chichester both have 10k's, along with Arundel, but not sure about longer' added 27th Jan 2012

claireconnolly 'I am having the same issue with races, I just need to get my arse in gear and pick one/some! There is a half marathon round Dorney Lake near Winsdor in March that I am thinking of - but am a bit put off by the fact that it's a fast/flat course and good for PBs, so I am likely to be miles behind everyone else, haha!!
