Winding down...

Sep0320071:38 p.m.

2nd September Jog

As you can gather from the title, I am indeed winding down my training runs for Sunday. Every Sunday will be 2km less with the final Sunday being 7km which is close to the normal 5km runs I do at weekdays. This run was frustrating because I wasn't performing as well as I felt I could perform at the beginning. I had a bit of a bad habit and wear a coat when I think it's cold. It was kind of cool, but I soon end up with the coat half-worn around my forearms. This has two effects - it kind of restricts my arms when I run and also my forearms super-heat. Sooooo, that's my excuse. The dip in the graph was me pausing for five minutes to catch my breath a bit and also to tie the coat around my waist.

As if this was a kick in the arse, I improved straight away and got a more respectable pace out of it. The strange thing is that the pace is definitely a lot better than I felt - 5.38! Not bad at all consdiering I stopped a few times to once again wipe the sweat from my eyes while I involuntarily cursed. This is something I hate although I think I still need to do the Vasoline-on-the-eyebrows trick which channels the sweat away from my oh-so-sensitive eyes.

I'm almost done, though I've just created a new Just Giving page! You can now donate money to help Macmillan Cancer Research and my motivation - please visit http://www.justgiving.com/stevenpick/ and give what you can. Every donation helps and Macmillan and me will love you forever.

Hope your training is going well!
