Training blog, week one.

Hello!
I decided many, many years ago, that one day i would run the London marathon, so this year, after being inspired by Eddie Izzards marathon quest, i decided to enter the ballot for next years marathon. I`m not very fit, and as far as running goes, the only time i run is if i need to catch a bus or if our husky has escaped the house!
I applied this week to enter the adidas womans 5k challenge in september to get a taste of a big run. I really want to run for charity, so if i don`t get a place in next years London Marathon at least i`ll be running one run for charity. I`ll be running for the UK Wolf conservation trust (www.ukwolf.org) These guys are awesome, 10 years ago some of their wolves (accidentely) bred, which led to the first European wolves to be born on british soil for 500 years! Its a cause i feel deeply connected to, i love wolves, as they are dogs closest living ancestors and we can still learn so much from them. They certainly don`t deserve the reputation they have been given and they definately don`t deserve to be hunted towards extinction!
I decided to start my training this week, but unfortunately picked up a pretty nasty cold a few days ago which i have only just gotten over. I went for my first run this morning, equipped with one of those nike+ sensor things, which claimed that i ran 2 1/2k in 14 minutes! Running to the shops and back definately isn`t that far away! I `ll have to recalibrate it!
We`ll have to see what next week holds! :)
