Running in my Jammies

Well, my very active (read crazy) dream life had me running in my jammies last night.  I was running along in my subconscious with my lime green flowered PJs on, and in my dreams, I was rationalizing "people will probably just think I'm running in one of those cute, matching jogging suits." JOGGING SUITS!  Needless to say in my waking life, it hasn't occurred to me to run in a jogging suit, or even to buy or wear or call it a jogging suit.  But as I've mentioned here before, there's no making sense of my dreams.  I just go with it.  So down the street I went in my lime green flowered jammies.

I think part of the reason this happened is that I'm trying to gather up all of my most favorite running clothes for race day.  This requires running this week in my less-favorite items and doing loads of laundry to make sure everything is ready.  I just got back from a 3-miler in 60 degree sun, and I wore long pants.  I was a little warm, to say the least, but my favorite race day shorts are still clean!  Anyone else rationing running clothes at this point? Or is it just me? Again?

I ran with a pace group that took a 30 minute break after 3 miles which made it impossible to get going again. There was a huge hill at mile 9 and there was a semi truck behind me getting mad that I wasn't moving fast enough. I made it to the top of the hill, only to collapse from the fatigue which was when I woke up. Oh yeah, I was also wearing a heavy backpack, weird huh? Are you running with a pace goup?' added 13th May 2008

  • runforeternity 'OK, Bib, your subconscious beats mine in the crazy department. On the pace group, I'm not sure yet. My husband and I may run together for the first half; he's much faster than I am, though, so I'm encouraging him to go ahead of me. If he does, then I'll probably try to find a pace group.' added 13th May 2008

  • zachnear 'Hey, I came across your blog and I really enjoy it. I like to find inspiration, tips, experiences of other runners out there to help me along. It's nice to find a blog of an everyday kind of runner like me -- I can't relate to the guys/gals that run 6 minute miles and complain about their pace, haha. Anyways, your experiences will help me more than theirs. Have a good run Sunday, I'll be there for the half-mary -- I am training for my first ever marathon this year in Chicago. "see you" sunday! should be perfect running weather and it sounds like you are well prepared for this race. P.S. I get minor knee issues on runs that I generally ignore, what do you think of the glucosamine - how much do you take, etc? Thanks. Sorry, i'm long-winded. Zach :) Also, I had a weird dream about the course being some 4 mile loop race -- more of a nightmare really. It involved running on picnic tables as well. And an old mansion. Weird. Though it may not be an option for the ladies... I like to run shirtless to effectively ration out my good shirts for races. It may terrorize oncoming traffic, but I'm comfy.' added 14th May 2008
