Pre New Year Resolutions

Dec2920074:43 p.m.

Hi,

Long time -  no post!  So just spent a pleasant hour reading the blogs an motivating myself into doing something in 2008.

There's nothing like a bit of competition to get you going is there?? One of the "round robins" this year told me that an old school friend is doing the London Marathon this year. As we all turn 40 this year i think that i need a challenge too. So, armed with only the interweb or the past hour i have discovered that Edinburgh Marathon is on 25th May ( which seems like a do - able timescale) or Dublin is 27th October which is 2 days after the big 4 0 ( and the perfect excuse for a girls wekend away!)

So, has anyone done either of these -  and if so, what are they like ???

(Oh no -  just remembered the feeling at the end of the GNR when i vowed NEVER to attempt a marathon -  what do i know!)

I'll do something this year so I have put the Garmin on charge - bring on the training!!

Take care

Beth  xx

  • dizzie1981 'I havn't done either of those races, however I did do my first marathon this year. Similarly to you, I crossed the GNR finish line wondering how Id ever manage to do double the distance, but I reakon if you go for it you won't be dissapointed! Im a big believer that the only barriers we have are in our minds.I personally found the GNR harder than the FLM! Plus you have to do something major for your 40th! ;-) Good luck with whatever you decide d x' added 30th Dec 2007
