Not sure if I will be there..

The day after my last post - we found out that Mum has Leukemia (I can spell that now). To say that the news has devastated our family is an understatement. It came completely out of the blue (Mum is young (64), fit and healthy and never been ill in her life) and we are still struggling to come to terms with it.
The 'good news' is that it is treatable - intense chemotherapy for 6 months - treatment has already started but we are taking it day by day. We don't know what tomorrow will bring so thinking about running a marathon in 5 months is unthinkable.
However, I am still running as it gives me the release I need at the moment and I am following some sort of marathon training plan but hand on heart I don;t know if I will be at that start line.
Sorry for the lack of comments, have not kept up with reading your blogs - hope everyone's training is going well. Blogging maybe a bit and miss but will try and keep updated and I hope all is well in your worlds.

nomadelle 'I wish you the very, very best. My mum has liver cancer and her 6 months of chemo is ending in two weeks and after that, we know absolutely nothing - I also don't truly know if I'll be at the start line but like you, I feel the running gives me the release I need. Keep blogging and keep your spirits up through the peaks and troughs.' added 8th Dec 2011

simonedumergue 'Gosh Sharon, so sorry to hear the news. That's tough to get your head around. Putting your Mum first will come naturally and you don't need to pressure yourself about the marathon. Some running will be a great stress reliever for you though, so hopefully you can still manage some over the coming months. Take care xx' added 13th Dec 2011
