So near yet so far..

Well it was a very sunny day in Rotterdam with a bit of a wind but the course was very fair. However, it was the tale of two halves in terms of the marathon for me. First half went well and bang on target for the sub 3:30. Still the case at 17 miles but then unfortunately the wheels started to wobble a bit and then in the last 4 miles I just could not find the energy to turn them fast enough. They did not fall off but boy did they wobble a fair bit. Would not wish the experience on my enemy.
Manageg to get round in a time of 3:41:46 which is a PB for me so happy in that respect and pleased that I kept it going in those last 12 kms even if not quite at the pace that I was looking for.
Will think about why it did not work out later. The way I felt after the race told me I had given it everything so nothing left in the locker.
Will I have another go. At the moment the straight answer is no. Thinking about trying to crack my old half marathon pb which is just under 1:34 (25+ years ago) when I managed a 1:36:26 this season. Should be less painful on the knees. Also going to focus on swimming for up coming triathlons (for fun) but would love to crack the front crawl.
