THIS IS REALLY GONIG TO HAPPEN!!!

Running with a hangover isn't a good idea, no matter how small the hangover.
Went out last Saturday night in the Rolls Royce Phantom we got from the Charity auction event, and obviously had a few drinks. It was a late night too, but I was determined to do the run in the morning.
I was never in the right frame of mind for it all week actually, and i paid the price for it. I did 20 miles instead of the planned 22, and walked the remaining 25 minutes home.
My mind is now totally focused on NYC and doing the 26.2 I am confident that I can do it but I know that the last 4 or 5 miles are going to be very very difficult. I am just hoping that the sheer buzz of the event and the people will get me through it.
Have been working away this week so far, so not managed to get out. I will do a few miles tomorrow night, and take it pretty easy from now on until the big day.
Butterflies are starting to set in every time I think about it too much.
My race number form came through the post yesterday which i need to take to the Expo to get my race number and race pack etc.
BLOODY HELL IT IS REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN!!

lucy23 'The last few miles are the best. Its when you're back on Manhattan and the crowds are phenomenal. The expo is really well organised but try to go out of peak times before saturday if possible. But as Hilary says enjoy, it'll be over so quickly but you'll re-live it for ages. And it sounds silly but don't forget to stretch at the end. They herd you through at the end so make sure you find a space and properly stretch out. And wear your medal the next day. You get loads of congratulations and a couple of free drinks as well!!!' added 28th Oct 2008
