Last weekend before "real" training begins

Back from LA and the awful storms and mudslides there. My sister and nephews are all great and I got to hike, run around with the boys and the dog, and go to spin class while I was there - all fun. Since I've been back I have done my first swim session - drills to improve my form that focused on rotation of my hips and gliding with extended arms. It feels good but takes some getting used to when I'm trying to find a rhythmn. I also did a Lactate Threshold test on my bike which was very interesting. Turns out I'm more of a sprinter than an endurance athlete! That seems all wrong to me! Anyway, I have to build my base before I do more interval work.
Which brings me to Monday - day 1 of my IMUSA training. I have to hit the gym at 6 am for a strength training class and running form analysis. The LT info is supposed to help my coach (Ryansez - it's Ryan but because all we ever say is "Ryan says...", we renamed him!) to figure out my workouts for Base 1 phase.
So I'll check in next week and let you know what was on the agenda for the week. Happy training...
