I recieved my acceptance letter last week and was over the moon...then it hit me, I am a very unfit ashmatic, the furthest distance I have ever run is 3 miles (and that knocked me out for a week) and I need to train myself to run 26.2 miles! uh oh! I am only 23 so hopefully I will have age on my side!

If anyone would like to sponsor me in this madness my charity is Great Ormond Street and the website is http://www.justgiving.com/sophia-tortopidis

Thank you :)

The Hare and the Tortoise

Today I learnt a valuable lesson.

Since I started my running I have been pushing myself to always beat my last time. My boyfriend has been telling me I should just focus on finishing without stopping...I did not listen. Today As I started my short run of 2 miles I was running at a fairly quick pace and soon overtook a rather slow jogger. HA I thought to myself, I am doing well today. About 100 metres later I had to stop and take my inhaler as by this point I was gasping for breath. Previously mentioned slow jogger soon ran past me. I finally realised that this is what My boyfriend has been trying to tell me. I had been pushing myself so hard I was soon going to start failing and losinbg rather than gaining progress. I took off after that at a much more comfortable pace and finished the run without stopping or needing my inhaler! Feeling much happier now about how the running is going :)

Slow and steady wins the race!
