VLM souvenirs

Yes, I'm back from my little jaunt to the Expo. It wasn't as exciting as I thought it might be. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but anyhow...there was a huge queue but thankfully not for my number!! I got seen to straight away but like a div, I just stood there waiting for with the form staring at me. I think I missed the woman saying I needed to sign it, when I was blathering on about id, so we were just stood looking at each, then the woman next to her said "you need to sign it". Oops!! 
I knew I wanted to buy one of those VLM adidas souvenir running vests, so that was the first stop. both Becca and I have been eyeing them for ages...so we finally bought one each. Didn't realise there was going to be so much marathon tat though. I wanted it all, especially the mug...but as I'm broke, I only treated myself to the vest. Had a wonder round, entered a few competitions - not entirely sure what I was entering myself into half the time - it'll be a massive surprise if I win any.
Imagine receiving a notice saying "You have won entry into the Bratislavia Marathon". I'd be like...What? when? how? Then I'll slowly all come flooding back to me.... Met the guys at RealBuzz, had our photo taken with the trophy, chatted with one of the guys about Footnote, who apparently "had just popped away", this one guy rabbitted on about Footnote's running whilst I filled in some form about motivational music, so I pretended I heard everything he was saying, whilst Becca was stood there thinking..."who on earth is footnote?" I then helped myself to a handful of sweets, and promptly got chewing on a drumstick lolly! Yum! Didn't stay at the Expo very long as there were far too many things I'd be tempted to buy.
The no parking cones and barriers were out on the streets when I got home! I'll probably start seeing the banners go up around me in the next few days... ooooh.... it's really real now! I've no escape from it at all!
Thanks Nick for telling me other people had got through to VLM. I finally got through today and they sent me a priority entry email, so I'm in! I've entered the ballot for 2011!! 
Have fun to everyone making their way to expo over the next few days. I'm sure I'll be blogging again before the week is out, because it's a bit hard to shut me up at the moment, but GOOD LUCK to everyone running on Sunday!! And if you're not running on Sunday, you'll have your big day soon enough.. BicycleRepairman - November is it??
