The final push ...

Mar1020108:50 p.m.

So one month 'til marathon day and I'm all set for the last couple of weeks of hard training before that long awaited taper - two long runs and the Reading HM to go.

To be fair I'm feeling pretty fresh after a quiet couple of weeks recovering from the 'calf niggle'. I got back running properly in the latter half of last week and on Sunday ran the Eastbourne half. I'd not done that one before and after reading a few slightly negative comments on the forums I wasn't sure what to expect - but I thought it was a well organised, friendly event. Just a shame about the weather. Freezing cold lining up beforehand and a bitter NE wind straight into the face between miles 4 and 8. Low temperatures I can cope with - winds I do not like Yell. I can't honestly say that it was an especially enjoyable run - I was just glad to get to the finish (1:35:17) - it was never going to be particularly fast given the conditions. Roll on spring!
