Bringing on back the good times.

Jan2720128:18 p.m.

Watching Run Fatboy Run didn't offer too many tips for the "serious" marathon newbie.

Or so I thought.

It can only be the effect of being inspired by Simon Peggs' character's gritty determination to overcome all the odds and complete his marathon, despite injury and win back the heart of his love that saw me get back on track with todays run.

I (eventually) found my marathon plan and it suggested I did a 60min SR (Steady run).

So, EASY it was then.

Or was it steady? I'm still not sure.

It was a good un tho.

For the second time ever I have run for an hour with no walking, this time reaching six and a half miles in the process.

Do that only THREE more times and then I'll only have the .2 bit to go!

Reversed my route so that for the second mile I was climbing the hill that usually helps me to my fastest mile. Once I'd conquered that it would have been a shame to take a walk so I worked hard not to.

I was v tired at the end and mile six was slower than the one up the hill, but that was just so I got safely towards the hour mark. I then sped up as I ran around a small block near home and the last half mile was my fastest pace.

Here's the stats...

Mile 1: 9.16.

Mile 2: 9.28

Mile 3: 9.01

Mile 4: 9.07

Mile 5: 9.10

Mile 6: 9.31

and the last half mile at 8.44.

Job done! Smile       An hour and three quarters scheduled for Sunday! Frown

It definitely has it's up's and down's this training lark. (as all the experts said it would) You do just have to accept that as a fact, keep positive and keep at it. A few of us seem to have had trickier times recently and it's great to see everyone determined to keep on running through till the good times return.

Ciao!

My God! Did I just say Ciao???

I blame the endorphins.
